Before I begin this guide I would like to say that this is not the only way to be level 140 as an Athenian. I may only be in the faction maps, but I have seen tons of BRs, gotten advice from tons of players and this is the result. This is just for those players like me who were mis-led.

House of Hades:

The ideal level to complete this map would be level 87. Ignore the fact you will be beaten up by other, 2nd TG and refine is far more important. (Vecspace) For Athenians, one of the ways to clear HoH is with Syrinx,Artemis and 3 buglers, Hecate,Lachesis and Eris. The other way to do it is with Syrinx and the 3 buglers but Dio instead of Artemis. This is way requires probably, one extra 2.5k+ mount and more training for Dio, but you can pass with much less armour. Sponde is also good. Pallas/Oneiroi are good for select NPCs.

The faction maps:

Any mixture of Hecate,Lachesis,Eris,Dio,Syrinx,Sponde and Artemis will get you through HoH easily, maybe even with just one mount, if it's above 3.5k.
The faction maps are harder, one G10-7 red mount (if using 1 BM) should get you through.
By now you should have Prestige Attack/Defense bonus.

Tartarus:

By the time you reach Tartarus then you should have at least one G10-7 Chim, 2 is better. By then you should definitely be at M40 or higher. Your armours should be a mixture of red and yellow, (you need less if you have two chims. Level 97 is good for completing Tartarus because you get max laurels from TL2, but you'll need to be at least level 100 to beat Sult, unless you want to camp for Ares Armour's.) Sponde will have outlived her usefulness by Tartarus and you will should be considering a new attacking hero. Dancers aren't very useful beyond level 110 maps, so with Dio,Syrinx and 3 buglers, you should have room for 3 more heroes. Aether is good, and with him and Asclepius or Asteria, you can pass Ragnarok with one Chim and a book. If you are VIP then you would benefit from training Asteria and or Asclepius. If you are not then you should get Aether. Aether can replace Dio or Syrinx. Even if you are VIP, Aether is very good, but is not needed until LT. The Oneiroi is also a must. unless you have Crius.
(I suggest you jump to lv 110 since you get 3rd Training Ground. You should already have stocked enough laurels for main techs when you beat Cronus.)
(Farm themis and TL2 for purple armour)

Ragnarok:

By the time you are level 110, you should have beaten Heimdall and have two max red mounts. Your armour should nearly all be red, (you can skip red) and you should be thinking about getting your first purple armour. You should have 4 of the following 7 heroes: Asteria,Asclepius,Syrinx,Dio,Aether,The Oneiroi,Crius. MF IV is one of the really hard NPCs in Ragnarok. There are several ways to beat it:

Stun and Run:

Skein formation with Dio and Eris/Lachesis in the top and Eris/Lachesis in the middle. Asteria will be in front of Syrinx in the bottom to stun the second meteorite mage. By the time Asteria dies, Syrinx should have taken out the Burning Golden Bulls and the meteorite mages. Dio can tank the Phantom Scythe Soldiers and Snowguard Archers will Syrinx wipes them out from the bottom.

The Hemera method:

If you are prepared to gamble with divs then you can use 3 buglers, Hemera, and Dio. Same as the one above except that instead of Asteria and Syrinx, it is Hemera, with Cronus/Hecate behind. Ideally, worst bugler should be in the middle. Hemera can take out the bulls and bottom mage, and if you get it right, emerges victorious with less than 1000 troops left. Dio will have beaten the top mage and while he is dying, Hemera can destroy the two B.M. units.

I would put more but I've decided to leave it open for suggestion. If you don't have Dio by the time you beat Rhea in Tartarus then it might be worth training her. You should have a red weapon or purple weapon by now anyway. It's either Crius,Dio or Rhea. Hel is bad, full stop, and you won't need Heimdall until LT. With a well placed Oneiroi, two Chims, a second B.M. hero and some red armours, Sult shouldn't be too hard.
(Farm Forseti for 1-2 Mjollnir)

Beyond the Desert:

This is the map where you should think about dropping Dio and Syrinx for Hemera and Aether. Sult is very good, and you should definitely train him. You might not have recruited him and trained and washed him before you beat Edjo so you will have to make do with prestige heroes. You will need one Ares Armour at least, the more the merrier. You can pass with yellow cloaks, if you have Oneiroi up to about 250 spirit, but even so you should start commisioning reds. You will also need a valor washed Cronus. For this map, you can have Asteria to stun the buglers or healers, Dio and or Syrinx, The Oneiroi, and maybe Hemera. I don't have much to say about this map apart from the fact that Dio and Syrinx should be dumped after you beat Edjo. Syrinx can be kept for enemies like Thrud but that is not recommended.
(Farm Selket and Legion to finish off 5 Ares Armor)

Valkyries Rage:

This map is where you start needing Heimdall. Enemies like Thrud sometimes have too much sheer attacking power. Sult is also a must. If you have kept 3 buglers until now then you should use Hemera, maybe Syrinx. If you don't then those heroes aren't highly recommended until unless you have a Kylin. Even with one or two buglers then Hemera can still be used for some NPCs like Thrud and Mist. By now, more and more B.M.s are continous and the Oneiroi are getting less useful. Asclepius is now nearly a must thanks to Skuld. You will need at least 2 or 3 purple armours to pass this map. I don't know much about armaments but you should probably start farming them if you are having trouble with your armours. Red cloaks are also needed, as the Oneiroi get less useful. Once you beat Skuld and do your virgin VL, you will get a red book. Give that to Asteria who should already be trained and washed, (double washed for a VIP). You will need at least one Mjollnir for this map, as you start to rely on heroes like Heimdall and Sult.By the time you get to Siegfried, your hero list should something like this:

Heimdall
Sult
Hemera
Cronus
Eris
Asclepius

Chilly Mountain: (enchant is important now)

For this map you will need Sult as a must, and Heimdall for a few enemies. This is probably the last map where the Oneiroi are a must. Syrinx and Dio should be long gone, and your only pure B.M. heroes should be Aether and Hemera. If you are VIP then you should get two Rain Comeths and train Asteria and Mist. If you are not, then just get Asteria with the red book you get from your virgin VL. This map should be relatively easy, and the few hard enemies can be beaten with Hemera or Heimdall if you are prepared to gamble with divs. You should have 4-5 purple armours by now. (3 maxed purple armor)

If you are non-VIP and have gotten the red book from Valkyries Rage then an option is to get Mist and Edjo.

Here my guide ends and I do not have enough info and Sieg and the maps beyond.

P.S. Here is how an Athenian on my server beat Elf in Nils:

As you can see, Sult is near the end of his usefulness.

Goodbye everyone!
