Just a little bit of fun while I struggle against Zeus, who I've already lost to 15 times, usually quite badly.

Actually a little surprised by how easy this was; I'd been expecting the Vanguards of Tartarus to hit harder and take less damage. As you can probably guess from the damage in vs. damage out balance, this guy fell on the first try. While this is definitely the easiest of them, the fact that I crushed him so thoroughly should bode well for the other four vanguards.

Will try to resist the temptation to spend more divs on Tartarus rather than Zeus, as this wasn't my plan.
That's impressive. Good luck with the rest of the map. The record is still set by Rayzor and Mordakei on what was server 10 and is now server 9 with a low level run of 80 through Tartarus and almost all the way through Ragnarok. They quit shortly after they got halfway into Ragnarok. I am not sure exactly what NPC they left off at but a challenge would be to beat that entire map at 80.

There was one other guy that claimed he did it at 80 but his reports did not prove he did it at 80. The record for low level through the desert from what I can see is 101 but then again this is with 5 heros not 1.
Well, a one hero run is not designed to compete with 5 hero records, it is it's own category. But if you've been following my posts in the official Batheo forum, you'll see I've finished the Vanguards of Tartarus at 60. Unfortunately, that seems to be the limit unless something pretty fundamental changes because Oceanus, the first elite of Tartarus, is just too strong.

Anyway...

Vanguard Force II: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N2013083112274072

Had an E token to get rid of while I wait for a chance at a virgin Zeus Legion. This guy was also easy, fell on first try despite not-so-good luck.
Leveled up to 76 after Zeus Legion

Vanguard Force IV: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N2013090111065190
Vanguard Force V: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N2013090111101252

Well this sure went by fast. Of these three, only VF 4 went down on 1st try, but none were all too hard. With VF3, spent a few tries killing the bugler first before deciding Sneak Raid was a bigger threat and after that it was only a few more tries, although I was very lucky to get a lot of crits on the winning shot. VF4 I knew was going to be easy because he just didn't have any serious threats. VF5's biggest threat was actually Dionysus firing Mutiny Outbreak at enemies with only a couple hundred faculty left. That didn't happen on the 3rd try and so I won. All three battles in Skein formation.

Will level up to 77 once building CDs go away.
Oceanus: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N201309069251330

Took about 30 tries. Frustrating enemy due to Morale Absorption + stun + bugler combo. Definitely needed Inverted Wedge to break the debilitating cycle.

Almost got Hyperion too. But snatched defeat from the jaws of victory because the white dragon rider at the end pulled off a streak of dodges, forcing a Tie with only a sliver of enemy health left.
Hyperion: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N20130907713806
Coeus: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N20130907734427

Something like 15-20 tries for Hyperion. This guy is not as crippling as Oceanus, but still very good at wearing you down. Sacred Stardust does high damage, especially at low faculty, cyclops' armored chariot limits Dio's healing, and Morale Absorption is there to continually frustrate Dio, especially later in the battle. Also, Troop Recovering Attack hits harder than one may think; taking the titan axe out first was necessary although it may not seem that way. As you can see, I used Inverted Wedge. Although I didn't get any Morale Absorption dodges, I did manage to screw up its rhythm, including one final time near the end.

Coeus was easy; the only real threat is that unprotected thunder mage. Once it's gone, I have the upper hand. Fell on 2nd try. Leveled up to 78 after that.

Primary Force I: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N20130907768142

Very first primary force of Batheo, and quite the pushover. Down on first try. For this battle, techs were upgraded to Lv 78 as was Kylin, Zeus' Cloak, Laeveteinn and Hero's Pride.

Unfortunately, Primary Force II is tougher due to water mage + cyclone mage. Not going to pass without quite a bit of failing from them.

Primary Force 4: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N2013091745890
Primary Force 5: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N20130917123296

Got a shiny new powerup for these fights: Jewels. Specifically, Lv 4 jewels on all 6 of my items. Also, replaced Spartan Charms with Rain Cometh (not that I think it matters, just for coolness) and took a +1 ren. Even with the +14/+14/+14 increase to stats, Primary Force 2 was still a pain. Finally brought him down after about 15 tries today with help from mage failing and a couple of well-timed crits. After that, the rest of the primary forces fell on the 1st try. They could have made it more interesting had they gotten some dodges; but they didn't.

Tethys up next. Leveling up first.
Tethys: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N201310111137089

Was originally thinking of beating her at Lv 79, only to settle for clearing early Ragnarok through Bragi instead. Even at Lv 80 though, Tethys is frustratingly hard. Took around 80 or so tries after reaching hero lv 80, ren lv 81, and quite a few more before that. That lightning cavalry's dodging single-handedly dooms most attempts, and that's just the start. You've got the nuking from the fire mage, of course, horribly broken crit rates from the snowguard archer and scorpion, and two could-have-been wins that were ruined by firing Mutiny Outbreak into Rally.

Got to admit I'm at a loss at what to do next... I knew Theia would be much worse because of her 2 water mages. But I didn't know about her Zeus' Blessing + Sneak Raid + Crash&Burn combo. Not feeling optimistic that she's possible at Lv 80...
Yeah, Theia at Lv 80 is not looking realistic. Dionysus' healing amount is too low, mage damage is too high, and that Sneak Raid is just death. Still, I did manage to get a 'fake' win over Rhea.

Here's a player, Blurloke, that has beaten
Theia (b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N201309206933145)
and Rhea (http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N201309206944170)

And here's me beating him at Lv 80 with one hero: http://b23.clapalong.com/?fid=N201310126819968
Yeah, I know, it's BS. But what else can I do?
