Loark: ClapAlong Exclusive License Rights for Loark - Pluton - 02-23-2012 Loark, which is known as 倾城in China, was originally launched for Asian Market. SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Power Hosts Technology Ltd and Power Hosts LLC (ClapAlong.com) announce today that they have purchased the exclusive publishing rights of Loark for the US market at 19.86 million Chinese yuan (equal to 3.13 million USD). According to ClapAlong, Loark is a thin-Java-client web-based action RPG, developed by Handseeing... Loark is a cooperative action RPG. It's a mash between Diablo and tower defense (one of the most popular genres in recent years). Loark is also a free massive multiplayer online game featuring three character species (factions) with thousands of concurrently online players interacting with one another. The game is built entirely based on Java with proprietary platform technology and Handseeing's own JGNet. JGNet is the research project founded since 2009 in partnership with Sun Microsystems (now Oracle Labs). Loark's alpha release date is set at Christmas this year. ClapAlong is expressing great enthusiasm as the release draws near. As their Product Manager Candy Zhang puts it, "Loark is going to make a lot of gamers leap for joy and it's going to be the highlight of my career!" About ClapAlong's Companies Power Hosts Technology Ltd and Power Hosts LLC are a global group of web-based game operators, distributors and publishers with coverage in the US, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Germany. It has launched dozens of game servers based on strategy and action RPG web-based game titles, such as Batheo. About Handseeing Handseeing is a full-fledged game development studio with end-to-end capability. Working solely on Java with its own proprietary platform technology JGNet, Handseeing has been creating games, such as Loark, that offer the most awing graphical experience in the competitive Java-based game industry, participated by other world-class MMO developers, such as Jagex Games Studio. * Note: The logo of Torchlight is owned by Runic Game, Diablo2 owned by BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT and Java logo owned by Oracle. SOURCE Handseeing; ClapAlong http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/loark-clapalong-exclusive-license-rights-for-loark-134590688.html --- Frankly, Loark is just a 2D grinding MMO (hack and slash) that combines a Chinese Unique theory of yin-yang and five elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth). You will have to click monsters for long boring hours to level up once... not to mention that VIP status cost money every HOUR and the more you play, the more expensive the game costs. If you're going to pay for a game, you're better off playing Diablo 3 (much better hack and slash game), or Crystal Saga (more players, less bugs) or any other game that doesn't belong to ClapAlong. RE: Loark: ClapAlong Exclusive License Rights for Loark - Evilness - 02-27-2012 Its funny that people actaully play games like that. They are just so patheticly made with lame graphics limited by java or flash. Even Diablo 2 looks better then these browser based ripoffs and it has better gameplay. Not to mention the 3D MMORPGS like Lineage or WOW. Brower games are limited to the type of batheo or travian. You cant make more then that. Atleast from my experience. |
