Isn't that loss a good example of why troop grade/troop level is important? I mean level 65 vs level 92 T-Storm mage, shouldn't we expect the T-Storm mage to hit nearly every time?

Priority will depend on which faction you are and which heroes you are using. I would say most people work an Spirit hit arm first, and then either Valor hit or Element hit next. For my full BM setup...
