Its upgraded by ITEM... not by color (although there is only 1 armament type of each color so that's kind of a moot point). If you want to change from say a lv2 Blue armament to a lv3 yellow armament... start farming yellows... becuase they're gonna start at lv0 (not 2).
The drop rate for yellow frags in Lost Temple seesm to be about 1 frag in 3 wins... maybe lower
To access the armament enhancement tool (the last pic in my guide above), you can also click on the Armory in your main city page. Once you have at least 1 armament completed there is a 3rd button (in addition to Enchant and Melt) called Armament.
