Guide by WarMart
A confusing subject for new players is deciding which equipment to use
on which hero. This also covers a common expensive mistake many make,
resulting in slower game progression. While all heroes may have slots
for all equipment types, very few of these heroes will ever use, let
alone need all equipment types. If they do not use the equipment, do not
equip them with it, you will be wasting drachs that can be much better
spent enhancing the equipment you do need.
We should probably start by just knowing how to identify a hero type.
Battle Magic "BM" Hero:
"BM" or Battle
Magic Hero types are easily identified by opening your recruitables tab.
To the right hand side you will see the hero stats. Notice where it
says "B.M.:" and if there is a red name in that section then it is
indeed a "BM" type hero you are looking at. You will also notice near
where the Spirit Stats are listed there will be a small mount icon.
Elemental "Mage" Hero:
"Mages" you
will notice have nothing listed for B.M. but do however have a small
book icon next to their Element Stat on the right. To the beginner there
is not much else to imply to you this hero may be a mage or anything
else short of a very long exhausting list of what hero is what type.
Healing "Healer" Hero:
This hero
type could be easily confused as a mage, the effect they have in battle
is vastly different however. While a mage casts spells to damage your
enemy, the healer instead uses its own turn in battle to slightly heal
your damaged troops. You will notice it also has a book icon displayed
near its Element Stat.
Mechanical "Mech" Hero:
The "mech"
heroes are easily identified by looking at their Valor Stat, you will
see a small sword icon to the right of the stat. This icon identifies
the hero as a mech type.
Morale Boosting "Dancer" Hero:
The dancer
type hero is used to increase morale for your BM type hero. They will be
listed as "Nymph Dancer" to the right of the "Troop:" stat. Not to be
confused as a mech, you will notice instead of a sword icon near Valor
stats they have an Armor icon.
Morale Boosting Buglar "Bug" Hero:
The Buglar type
hero is used to increase morale for your BM type hero. They will be
listed as "Buglar" to the right of the "Troop:" stat. Not to be confused
as a mech, you will notice instead of a sword icon near Valor stats
they have an Armor icon.
Now that you know how to identify the hero type you have, let's progress
to the purpose of this tutorial, making sure we have the correct
equipment on the correct type of hero you have selected to use in your
formation. You can refer to the following image for the slot list of the
"Equipment" Panel where you equip your heroes.
BM type heroes require ALL of the following equipment:
Increase +Spirit damage on enemy
Weapon:
Increase +Valor damage on enemy
Book:
Increase +Element effect on enemy for Mage, on your own troops for Healer
Armor:
Increase +Valor Defense
Cloak:
Increase +Spirit Defense
Horn:
Increase +Faculty (number of troops you have in battle)
In close and within the subject of this tutorial I will make only the following suggestions...
Is it possible to use a piece of equipment that a specific hero type does not use in the effort to increase your Faculty? Answer: Yes
Should you do this? Answer: No
Here is why it is my advice to you not to do this. Faculty gain from
equipment types other than horns is very low, while the equipment
quickly becomes very expensive each level you enhance it. If your
objective is only to increase faculty use a horn and enhance it for this
purpose. You will gain much higher faculty numbers for far fewer drachs
spent. Equipping a hero with equipment they do not use or need will
only be a waste of drachs that you could be putting to far better use.
Can I replace my (specific color) level 29 equipment with higher level (same color) level 55 or higher equipment?
Answer: While yes you can, providing your hero is high enough level to
be equipped with the higher level equipment, you would not want to do
this, or I should say you would be making very little gain in doing
this. For all practical purposes, and simplicity of this beginner
tutorial on equipment, you can consider blue equipment of all levels to
be the same as any other piece of like blue equipment. Equipment should
be upgraded to "better" based only on its "better" color. Equipment
quality is identified by players in the following order of good, better,
best...
White - Weak
Blue - Better than white
Green - better than blue
Yellow - Good
Red - Better
Purple - Best
