1. (Get enough laurels(say 200 - 300k) before you attempt.) Wash with first 10k and see if the stats move up. Otherwise, try later*.
2. If you wash for valor+spirit, completely ignore element stat. Just make sure the sum of valor+spirit(new values) is better than old values.
3. Also, try to keep the gap between valor and spirit as minimal as possible. Out of my experience, a gap of 12 or less seems to be good.
4. If you have a lot of laurels at your disposal and you need comfort, go for auto-wash. If you can undergo the process of mass-clicks, do it manually.
These are just the tips that were passed down to me. It worked for me. Good luck!
* 'Later' can be any time interval, let's just say you need a bit of self-control and you should know when to push hard with the washes and when to step back and stop. Since it involves 'random' factor as with several other stuff, there isn't a hard-set rule for it. However, at a high level, we can have some guidance. So, after abt 10-15k laurels, if the new stats don't even come closer(to existing stats) or get higher, it's kinda bad time for it and a lot of laurels can go waste. So, it's better to stop there. When you try later, you might get stats jump up by +10/+10 or so within the first 10k laurels, which can be a good time to push through.
More than any skill or strategy, you just need good luck with it, cuz you can get a decent double wash with just 200k laurels or it might even consume 1m laurels for the same. Just develop the self-control to stop when you see the washes aren't going anywhere and you are just burning laurels
