Effect of attributes, washes and enchants on Damage - Pluton - 12-30-2011

Well, just how attributes(valour,spirit,ele) relate to damage output [Image: redface.png]

In this thread, all mentions of "attributes" is the attribute that increase heroes damage out for the attacking hero, and the respective attribute for the defending hero.
(ex. for mages like hept/mist, it would be ele. for BM like Hades it would be spirit)

We will keep it simple and only talk about pure valour/spirit/ele heroes. Mixed attribute heros such as Sult work in a similar way.

AA = attribute of attacking hero
AD = attribute of defending hero

Let ΔA = AA - AD
ΔA = Difference in stat between attacking and defending hero.

ΔA >= 50 is 150% damage (ie. Dio with 250 spirit hit Lotis with 200 spirit)
ΔA = 25 is 125% damage
ΔA = 0 is 100% damage
ΔA = -25 is 75% damage
ΔA <= -50 is 50% damage

Damage is proportional! If ΔA = 10, then it's something between 100-125% damage!

Thus for maximal damage, the attack hero only need 50 more of the respective attribute than the defending hero.
Any furthur increase in that attribute will not increase damage.

Three BRs for comparison:

ΔA=-41 [Mist with 185+89 ele, hept with 260+55 ele, edjo with 49 ele]
http://b1.clapalong.com/?fid=N201112302796032

ΔA=-10 [Mist with 216+89 ele, hept with 260+55 ele, edjo with 49 ele]
http://b1.clapalong.com/?fid=N201112305500917

ΔA=45 [Mist with 216+89 ele, hept with 260 ele, edjo with 49 ele]
http://b1.clapalong.com/?fid=N201112306675725

You can compare the damage to Edjo and Hept in the three BRs.

For late game pvp with enchants:

There is really no difference between triple and double washes without enchants to back it up. See the 3rd BR above.
Because as long as the attacking hero has 50+ attribute more than the defending hero, the attack will hit for maximal damage.

ie. double washed Anubis with 74 ele, and triple washed Anubis at 74+150 ele, both with no enchants with receive same damage from Mist with 115+150+10 (washes+enchant) ele attributes. However triple washed Anubis with full ele enchants can reduce damage from mages by a bit.

For heros like Sult, with extremely low starting ele of 45, there is no need to triple wash, since any decent mages can hit for maximal damage even without enchants.

Of course this is for pvp only, triple washes still help greatly fighting npc mages.

Hope this is useful to everyone [Image: rolleyes.png]

Orochi:
Quote:There's a simple mechanic, whereby if the stat difference between attacker and defender is > "X", attacker does max damage, and defender takes max damage. if the stat difference is < "X", then the damage starts decreasing to the point where minimal damage is dealt/taken. "X" being supposedly 50-55 according to tests run by chinese servers.

So save yourself tons of laurels and gold, and do not dual/triple wash blindly. Think about whether u can afford the additional enchants. For instance if you choose to dual/triple wash cronus and max ele.. you'll need to be able to enchant a red book+horn too, in order to utilise the elemental wash potential. if you cant.. then dont bother because any decent mage with enchant will have a >55 ele stat difference and render your cronus ele wash useless.
Armor:
Quote: I don't know much about it, but there is also a relative spirit "effect." For example, if I have 255 spirit and I attack your guy with 100 spirit, your guy takes a lot of damage call it x. If your guy has 50 spirit, you still take x. If your guy has 150 spirit, you still take x. If your guy has 200 spirit, you still take x. If your guy has 201 spirit, you start to take less damage because it is within 1-55 of my spirit.

So if your bugler is washed +100 from 49, he has 149 spirit. That won't help against my lotis washed to +130 + 60 ie 278 spirit.

Proof by Orochi:

I've said it a few times, ele wash on buglers is useless in later maps unless u can afford to enchant as well. because u need to hit a certain breakpoint in order to get reduced damage. and if maxed ele wash with +0 enchant can't hit that breakpoint, then it's the same as a +0 wash.

In the screenshot below :

cronus ele stats = 183
asclep ele stats = 180
sult ele stats = 68
heim ele stats = 82
mist ele stats = 292

[Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=9495&d=1320317825]

basically only mist gets reduced damage due to ele wash, because her ele stats are high enough thx to enchant. sult and heim have over 100 less ele stats than cronus and asclep, but they take less dmg due to added defense due to morale. in other words.. the 100 more ele stats on cronus and asclep.. does NOTHING because it isn't high enough.

bear in mind this is only mid game, and meteorite mages have lower ele stats in comparison to the other mages. so it just gets worse. if triple washing and enchanting ele (which means u need a minimum of red book+red horn for each charc u intend to wash ele for) isn't an issue for u, then yes it'll help. if u can't afford it.. then it's just a waste of gold/laurels.

those who use gold for ultimate wash won't bother much since there's a decent chance of all 3 stats going up together, but for those using laurels to dual wash... think before hand and save your laurels.

so stats purpose is only to give you from "50percent dmg/def debuff" to "50 percent dmg buff"... am i right?

if thats true, you can propably beat desert even with bellerophon...
tartarus creeps should have about 140spirit... spirit washed lvl100 bellerophon should have 120+50=170 spirit... so 20 spirit under maximum dmg buff... thats not so terrible...
and after cronus will die, you can buff his spirit by gem enchanting...
so every hero is really usable... wow...

RE: Effect of attributes, washes and enchants on Damage - Pluton - 02-28-2012

Yes but you can only go to a certain point with low stat heroes, i.e up to Skuld.
You would want high stat heroes for PvP and later anyway.
