To renascence a hero is to reset his level. The first round of renascence is available when your heroes reach Lv 51. You can find the Renascence button in Evolution tab of Troop panel.
The more rounds your hero is renascenced, the stronger his troops. Simply put, to renascence a hero is to sacrifice his own level to increase his troop level. For example, I renascenced Polyphemus when he reached Lv 51. Back then, his troop level was at Mediocre (G4) 1. Now he is at Lv 2, his Troop Level is Shabby (G1) 6 already! When he reaches Lv 51 again, I guess his troop level will be Mediocre (G4) 7.
Before the renascence
After the renascence
Max troop grade gained per renascence = random between [5-9 level] OR [Assembly Level - Renascence level] whichever is the lowest.
There are a few things you must pay attention to when you renascence a hero.
Make sure the level gap between the Assembly and the hero lies between 5 and 9. I first renascenced Bellerophon when the Assembly was at Lv 52. He only got Shabby (G1) 2 for his new troop level!
Renascence the hero with his equipment on. Otherwise, your hero might not meet the level demand of the equipment after the renascence. It was Bellerophon again! I took his horse off soon after the renascence and he couldn’t ride it before he got to Lv 38 again! That was a week later!
Renascence doesn’t improve the hero’s faculty or attributes.
